'The Shadow Series' was inspired by the idea that imperfection is true expression. I tried to let each shoot become what it wanted to be from the actual shooting phase to the the film processing. Essentially this series is a demonstration of everything I loathe about commercial photography and the silly idea that a photograph has to be 'perfect.' Every picture was taken with available or continuous light as an act against the commercial strobe. I also tried to make every shoot spontaneous and challenge myself by not having an organized plan. All of these elements aided in the development of 'The Shadow Series' and the 'anti-commercial' meaning behind it.
