HAPPY BIRTHDAY EDVARD MUNCH!

He was really a very talented artist.  You would do well to get acquainted with his work.  Also: the earliest realistic date that the Haiku issue will be posted is December 21st.  It will be just like Christmas!  But four days early and nondenominational!

Haiku update

Oh wow! What a busy semester! Sorry the Haiku issue is taking so long, gang - I just don’t want to fail out of grad school. At least not yet. It’ll hopefully be up very early December. Maybe even THIS WEEKEND! Also, for those of you in the Boston area there’s going to be a Head-to-Head Haiku Battle very soon!

When: Dec. 6th, 9:30pm
Where: Cantab Lounge in Cambridge, MA

If you want to participate contact the host, SAM-R-I: slamajane_at_comcast_dot_net

Hey everybody! It’s National Novel Writing Month! Start now, you’re only a couple of days behind!  Also, the Haiku issue should be up soon.  We’re busy sorting through all the submissions in the most zen manner possible.

Just a couple more days until the deadline, kids.  Here are a couple of sites to maybe inspire you:

Drunken Volcano: because the New Yorker is far too wordy
Bookburger Haiku Contest: sounds delicious!
Haiku Generator: you can write way better haiku than the internet!

Two weeks!

Just a gentle reminder that the deadline for the Haiku issue is a mere two weeks away. I know you are all working diligently on your haiku - and we appreciate that. But remember: if haiku ain’t your thing, don’t write one! Just be inspired by the haiku muses and do whatever comes naturally. But haiku ARE pretty fun.
Deadline coming fast
Not good at writing haiku?
Make it haiku-esque!

We like everything
Not just asian-form poetry

Check it out: right after we launch our latest issue with a little piece about subway maps, the NY Times comes out with this article about The Great Subway Map Wars. (Starring Massimo Vignelli and John Tauranac!)  Do we totally blow those jokers out of the water?  YOU DECIDE!

Wow! The Lost Issue is up! Hooray for Noise!
